The Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corp. had a weekly drill night to review basic firefighting skills. Firefighters rehearsed putting on their gear and operating self-contained breathing equipment (SCBA). SCBA training is still a key safety criterion under state and national rules, including the NFPA respiratory protection recommendations.

Crews also reviewed main search procedures and emphasized the need of effective communication between partners and command officials. Mayday procedures were discussed to ensure that members understood emergency protocols in the event that a fireman became lost or trapped. The session ended with standard maintenance of air packs, such as battery replacement and system checks. The department continues to provide round-the-clock coverage and welcomes new volunteer members during weekly Tuesday drills.
