On February 8th, on Super Bowl weekend, the Oradell Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire. Chief Moran arrived on scene and confirmed heavy fire showing and requested a 2nd alarm assignment. Due to extremely cold temperatures and high winds, Chief Moran needed extra support on scene and requested a 3rd alarm. Members on scene battled iced-over gear, slippery conditions, and frozen apparatus. The departments assisting on scene were: New Milford, Riveredge, Paramus, Emerson, Dumont, and Haworth. The fire caused heavy structural damage, and the house needed to be demolished. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
