WALTHAM, MA - On February 10th, a woman driving on I.95 saw smoke coming from the roof of the Weston Hotel in Waltham. Waltham Fire dispatched Engines 2, 4 and 7, Rescue 1, Tower 1 and Medic 1. Companies responding could see the black smoke coming from the roof. Engine 2 accessed the roof to search for the source. In the meantime, Deputy Brock Rowland ordered the hotel to be evacuated and transmitted a working fire, bringing in Engine 1 and Medic 2. It was determined to be a boiler issue and companies remained on scene for approximately two hours.
