Canton, CT — January 27th —  Throughout the weekend blizzard, the Canton CT Fire and EMS Department responded to a number of emergencies. Fire and EMS personnel remained in quarters throughout the storm to ensure timely response to events throughout town. Officials commended citizens for their tolerance during heavy snowfalls. With the continuous accumulation, the department warned households to clean snow and ice from heating and exhaust vents to avoid carbon monoxide buildup and other concerns. The agency also commended the Town of Canton agency of Public Works, whose crews worked beyond hours to keep fire stations open and assist at emergency scenes.
