Bay Shore Firefighters Battle Well-Progressed Townhouse Fire in Admiralty HOA

On January 18, 2026, at approximately 5:50 p.m., Suffolk County Fire-Rescue alerted the Bay Shore Fire Department to a reported house fire in The Admiralty Homeowners Association on the west end of town. Firefighters arrived to find a well-progressed blaze in a single-family attached townhouse-style residence, with heavy fire venting through the roof. Crews immediately initiated an aggressive interior and exterior attack, deploying multiple handlines and utilizing ladder operations to contain the flames. Firefighters operated on scene for approximately two hours before bringing the fire under control. Two firefighters were evaluated and released at the scene by EMS for minor injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Islip Town Fire Marshal’s Office and the Suffolk County Police Arson Squad.
