Firefighters Escape Collapse During Staten Island House Fire

STATEN ISLAND, NY - Firefighters responded to 250 Elverton Ave. at 11:30 p.m. on January 30th to a two-and-a-half-story private dwelling with fire throughout. FDNY members were operating on the 4 side of the building when there was a total collapse. Maydays were transmitted and members escaped from the collapse without injury. Exterior operations were then instituted. There were two civilians injured and two members were sent to the hospital, all with minor injuries.
