Lieutenant Jeff Allen Retires After 24½ Years with Binghamton Fire

The Binghamton Fire Department announced Jeff Allen's retirement after 24½ years of service. Lt. Allen was employed on July 9, 2001, and began his career at Engine 1 before working at every company in the city, with the majority of his time spent at Engine 4. He was promoted to lieutenant in April 2013 and has worked on several groups throughout his career. Lt. Allen qualified as a paramedic in 2004 and an advanced hazardous materials technician in 2008. He got the department's Life Saving Award in 2011 and participated in a number of important emergency situations. Department officials commended him for his professionalism, devotion, and service, and wished him a happy retirement.
