Lodi Working House Fire Quickly Knocked Down

LODI, NJ - At 7:21 P.M. on the evening of February 8th, Lodi fire companies and Lodi police were dispatched to 240 Garibaldi Ave. and Meta Lane for a reported house fire.

Chief Lortz arrived and had smoke showing from a private dwelling. A general alarm was sounded on the confirmed working house fire. First due Engine 612 pulled a one-and-three-quarter inch attack line to the second floor while crews from Engine 614 and Engine 615 pulled a second one-and-three-quarter inch attack line to the first floor where the fire was located between both floors.

Mutual aid was called from Wallington, Hasbrouck Heights and Garfield to the scene. The fire was quickly knocked and no injuries were reported. Mutual aid for cover came from Wood-Ridge, Saddle Brook and Rochelle Park. Additional agencies on scene came from the Lodi OEM, Saddle Brook Vol. Ambulance Corps fire rehab unit and County Wide. The fire is being investigated by the Lodi Prevention Bureau at this time.
