House Fire Quickly Contained in New Baltimore

A fire was quickly extinguished at a home in New Baltimore before it could spread to the rest of the house.
Numerous fire departments were called to 640 High Rock Rd in New Baltimore for a structure fire on Tuesday, January 17, at 4:30 p.m.
The caller reported the house was on fire in the area of the propane tanks.
With the home being two houses down from New Baltimore Fire Station 2, crews were on scene within minutes.
Mutual aid from Ravena, Coeymans and Coeymans Hollow fire departments were dispatched, but were not needed due to a quick knockdown of the fire.
Chief Scott VanWormer of New Baltimore Fire says the damage was confined to a small portion of the basement.
There was some smoke damage inside the home, but very little water damage.
Chief VanWormer says the fire was knocked down using approximately 150 gallons of water.
Ravena Rescue, Greene County Paramedics and Greene County Sheriff’s also assisted on the scene.
There were no injuries reported.
There is no official word on a cause at this time.
