On February 1, members and junior firefighters from the Wellsville NY Vol. Fire Department were out cleaning snow from fire hydrants throughout the Village and Town of Wellsville due to recent winter storms. The repair is part of a continuous effort to keep hydrants visible and accessible to firemen in case of an emergency. Snow-covered or blocked hydrants can cause delays in water supply during a fire, particularly in cold weather when time and access are critical.
