WELLSVILLE, N.Y. — January 9: Members of the Wellsville NY Volunteer Fire Department expressed their continuous support for the department's Junior Firefighters fundraising efforts. On Friday, a local redemption center picked up over 30 bags of cans and bottles that junior members had sorted and tallied.

Donations of returnable containers continue, providing a consistent source of revenue for junior program requirements. Funds raised through these efforts help support the purchase of gear, pagers, and other equipment used by junior firefighters as they train and participate in department activities. Department officials noted that similar fundraising last year helped purchase two gear lockers, additional helmets, and pager batteries issued to junior members.
