Fitchburg, MA — January 23rd — The Fitchburg Fire Department was called to a car fire on Water Street in front of a nearby company. Rescue 3 and Group 3 Engine 4 were sent to look into and deal with the situation. Crews started suppression efforts after discovering a passenger car with fire conditions upon arrival.

In order to restrict damage to the vehicle and stop the fire from spreading to neighboring property, firefighters swiftly put out the fire using a hose line. While activities were in progress, crews supervised road safety and performed hot spot checks. Fuel dangers and surrounding exposures must be taken into consideration because vehicle fires are a frequent response. There were no reported injuries. Fitchburg troops cleared and resumed operations after verifying that the situation was secure.
