Charlton, MA — January 25th — The Charlton Fire Department, located at 10 Power Station Road in Charlton, Massachusetts, USA, 01507, offered mutual aid to a second-alarm building fire in Oxford. To support the crews working at the scene, Units C-1 and E-1 were sent.

Because its crew was attending to a medical emergency at the time of dispatch, Engine E-1's response time was delayed. When Command Unit C-1 arrived on the site, its members helped Oxford Fire Department crews. In order to sustain prolonged operations and preserve scene safety, second-alarm occurrences frequently call for additional resources. Agencies can continue to offer coverage in their home communities while supporting one another through mutual aid agreements between nearby departments.
