Auburn, MA — January 16 — Crews from the Auburn Fire Department, located at 47 Auburn Street, responded to a six-vehicle collision on the westbound Massachusetts Turnpike near mile marker 87.2. Firefighters and emergency personnel operated on scene to give patient treatment, secure automobiles, and manage traffic safety. The crash resulted in minor injuries. A mutual assistance ambulance from Oxford Fire & Emergency Services arrived to help with transportation and medical care if needed.
Multi-vehicle events on limited-access roadways require coordinated measures to mitigate risks and restore traffic flow. There have been reports of traffic impacts on the westbound lanes, and more traffic is anticipated on nearby local roads. While crews finish emergency operations and evacuate the area, drivers are advised to plan alternate routes if possible and use caution.
