Auburn, MA — January 15 — All of the intersection's traffic lights were out of commission due to severe damage to the traffic signal control box caused by a car accident on Auburn Street in the Drury Square neighborhood. The Auburn Fire Department, arrived to the area to assist with traffic and scene safety.

Crews from National Grid and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation were also on scene to evaluate the damage to the control equipment. According to preliminary evaluations, the signals were predicted to be offline for the rest of the night and into the next day. Coordinated action is necessary to lessen the risks associated with traffic signal disruptions. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the crossroads when possible and use caution if travel through the area is required.
