On January 27th, the Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corp presented a Basic Fire Investigation Awareness workshop during its weekly drill night. Representatives from the Town of Coeymans Police Department, Albany County Sheriff's Office, New York State Fire, and New York State Police conducted the training.
Members talked about appropriate practices during overhaul to assist preserve a scene and examined indicators that might call for additional fire investigation. The training focused on the significance of maintaining safe and efficient fireground operations while safeguarding any evidence. Additionally, State Fire demonstrated the use of an accelerant-detection K9, describing how skilled canines may assist investigators in identifying the source and spread of fires by locating ignitable liquids. The department commended all participating agencies for funding the training, saying that programs like this build interagency cooperation and improve service to the community.
