January 17, 2026 — Just before 10:00 p.m., emergency crews responded to a serious motor vehicle accident on Juniper Drive involving a single-vehicle rollover with reported entrapment. The Ashaway Volunteer Fire Association, Ashaway Ambulance Association, and Hopkinton Police Department were dispatched to the scene, where first-arriving units confirmed a vehicle on its side with one occupant trapped inside. Due to the initial severity of the report, a Life Star medical helicopter was requested while units were en route, though it was later canceled once conditions were reassessed. Firefighters quickly stabilized the vehicle and deployed hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the occupant. Within approximately 20 minutes, the individual was safely removed and transferred to EMS care. The patient was transported by Ashaway Ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital in stable condition. Crews remained on scene to assist with vehicle removal, and all units were back in service by around 11:30 p.m., marking a coordinated and efficient response by all agencies involved.
