The Montvale Fire Department was called to a single-family home on January 28 at around 8:02 a.m. due to a report of smoke coming from a wood-burning stove in the back of the house. A working fire assignment was transmitted after Captain Hopper, who was the first on the scene, discovered severe fire conditions at both the front and rear doors. Deputy Chief Cintineo was in charge of operations after Chief Gibbons established authority. For around three hours, firefighters worked on the spot to contain the fire and finish the overhaul. There were no reported injuries. Mutual aid fire departments arrived to support on-scene operations and suppression efforts. The Montvale Volunteer Fire Department expressed gratitude to its mutual aid partners for their assistance throughout the event.
