Newfield Fire Company Handles Midday Structure Fire

At at 12:30 p.m. on January 21, 2026, the Newfield Fire Company responded to a reported structure fire at a home in the Town of Newfield. When personnel arrived, they discovered smoke coming from the building's alpha side and launched an interior fire attack. After the fire was contained by firefighters, overhaul activities were finished to make sure the situation was safe and to check for an extension. Units 1302, 1301, 1322, and 1321 were among the apparatus responding to the event, and three chief officers were in charge of on-site operations.
The Newfield Fire Company was assisted by Bangs Ambulance, the New York State Police, the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office, and the Tompkins County Department of Emergency Response. There were no reported injuries.
