Newport, NJ — January 18 — In response to a demand for emergency medical services, the Downe Township Fire/Rescue and Dive Team arrived in Newport. Utility 39 and QRV 39 were sent to assist on-scene EMS personnel. While EMS personnel finished patient assessment and care, firefighters contributed extra personnel and helped with scene coordination. The units stayed on site to assist with patient mobility, access requirements, and keeping responders' workspaces safe.

In order to increase efficiency and responder safety during EMS situations throughout the township, fire-rescue assistance is frequently sought. While other resources handle scene requirements, EMS personnel can concentrate on patient care thanks to these synchronized responses. Both units were freed by command and put back into service when EMS operations were over.
