The North Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department is warning locals about unsolicited calls that seem to be from the fire department and ask for donations. According to department representatives, they have no connection to the calls and have not given any corporation or organization permission to call for donations. The agency stressed that the sole large-scale fundraising initiative carried out on its behalf is its official sent fund drive letter.

Before making any phone donations to those posing as representatives of public safety or philanthropic organizations, residents are advised to exercise cautious. It is recommended that anyone who thinks they may have made a donation through one of these calls get help from their bank. The department thanked the locals for their ongoing support and expressed regret for any inconvenience.
