January 13, 2026 — The Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department conducted a joint training exercise Tuesday evening with the Township of Washington Volunteer Fire Department, focusing on hands-on skills and operational readiness. Firefighters trained on a newly acquired forcible-entry training device and practiced chainsaw operations using a roof ventilation simulator, reinforcing critical techniques used during structure fires. Department officials noted that collaborative training strengthens inter-agency coordination while ensuring members remain proficient with evolving tools and tactics. Leaders from both departments expressed appreciation for the dedication of their volunteers, emphasizing that continuous training is essential to maintaining preparedness and keeping their communities safe.
