Mutual-Aid Efforts Recognized at Fire Chiefs Banquet

Glassboro, New Jersey — 8th January — At the Gloucester County Fire Chiefs Association Awards Banquet, which was attended by members of the Glassboro Fire Department, firemen from other departments were honored for their actions after an incident in Monroe Township on July 2, 2025. Firefighters from Washington Township, Williamstown, and Glassboro were recognized for their handling of an aircraft emergency at Cross Keys Airport. Several calls about an aircraft crashed with 14 passengers on board were received by the Gloucester County Communications Center that day. One patient was found severely trapped in the wreckage when responding crews verified the collision. To stabilize the situation and start rescue efforts, fire, emergency medical services, and support organizations collaborated. Departments throughout Gloucester County received additional honors for their dedication to public safety and their service.
