Washington Township, NJ — 5th January — A reported house fire prompted Squad 26 to enter Washington Township on a mutual-aid assignment. When Battalion 10 arrived, they verified that the basement fire was operational. As the third-due engine, Squad 26 was tasked with securing a backup water supply to assist with operations. After that, the crew extended a 400-foot, 1½-inch handline to the Side Charlie section of the building. Squad 26 was reassigned as the Rapid Intervention Team after finishing their original duties, and they continued to be ready while interior operations went on. Before being released by command, the unit worked on the site for a little more than an hour. There were no recorded injuries involving Squad 26. The Deptford Fire Department, which is based at 1370 Delsea Drive, handled the reaction. The Washington Township Fire Department was credited with the photo.
