Island Heights, NJ — December 31 — On New Year's Eve, the Island Heights Volunteer Fire Co. 1 concluded 2025 with one last mutual assistance response. Island Heights units were sent to help the Seaside Park Station 45 Volunteer Fire Company at a residential structure fire on K Street in Seaside Park late on December 31. Crews supported on-scene operations and suppression as part of a coordinated response with nearby businesses. Units cleared the area and made their way back to Island Heights just before midnight after fulfilling their tasks and being released by command. This was the department's last fire response of the year. After another year of service and mutual assistance support, members were able to return home in time to greet 2026 with loved ones.
