Bayville Firefighters Handle Vehicle Fire at Johnson’s Pit

Bayville, NJ — December 22 — A car fire at Johnson's Pit was reported to the Bayville Volunteer Fire Department, which is situated at 645 Atlantic City Boulevard. When responders arrived, they saw a car heavily involved. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control by stretching a handline and starting suppression operations.


Chief 1700, Assistant Chief 1710, Rescue 1713, Engine 1741, Brush 1739, and Brush 1729 were among the units on the scene. Responding members' coordinated efforts prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent areas. There were no reported injuries. Units were put back into duty after suppression and scene checks were finished. In order to ensure safe and effective response operations, department officials encouraged people to report incidents as soon as possible and acknowledged the timely acts of volunteer members.
