WAYNE, NJ — December 25 — Throughout Christmas Day, the Community Volunteer Fire Company #1, Inc. maintained full service by responding to four emergency calls. While handling several situations, the crews were still available for other assignments around Wayne Township.

A working structure fire that needed mutual aid support from Wayne Fire Companies #2 and #5 was the day's last response. Together, firefighters managed to contain the situation and finish suppression efforts without any injuries being recorded. Regardless of holidays, emergency calls still occur, according to department officials, therefore members must always be prepared. The continued dedication of volunteer firemen who staff equipment, respond to events, and support their community every day of the year was mirrored in the Christmas Day responses.
