Heavy Snow and Downed Lines Force Closure of Duffy Hill Road in Sheldon

Jan. 8, 2026 — Duffy Hill Road was closed at the Bailey area Thursday night as heavy snowfall brought down trees and electrical wires, prompting a response from the Sheldon Fire Department. Fire crews secured the scene and blocked the roadway to protect motorists while awaiting clearance from Enosburgh Light Company to safely address the downed lines. Snow continued to fall heavily on the hill during the incident, creating hazardous travel conditions. Motorists were advised to avoid the area until the roadway could be safely reopened.
