On Monday, January 5th, Marmora Volunteer Fire Company Firefighter Kevin Rafael graduated from the Firefighter I program at the Atlantic County Fire Academy. The foundations of entry-level firefighting, such as SCBA operations, ladder work, traffic incident management, hazardous materials awareness, and incident command, are covered throughout the roughly 180 hours of instruction that make up Firefighter I training.

Marmora Fire Chief Jay Newman, Marmora Deputy Chief Mark Newman, Firefighter Kevin Rafael, and Marmora Captain Bruce Kratz are shown during the graduation from left to right.

Firefighter Rafael received his Firefighter I certificate in front of the membership on Tuesday, January 6, at the Marmora Volunteer Fire Company's regular monthly meeting. Firefighter Grant Nuss, who obtained his Firefighter II certification from the Atlantic County Fire Academy, was also acknowledged and given it during the same conference.
