Bridgewater, NJ — January 2 — A reported overturned car prompted the Green Knoll Fire Department to react near Interstate 287. Engine 34-9, Utility 34, Rescue 34, and both chiefs were sent to the scene.
When the crews arrived, they discovered a passenger car about fifty feet off the road, down an embankment, and into a creek. Before rescue personnel arrived, the passenger had self-extricated and reported minor injuries. Firefighters evaluated the area, looked for dangers, and verified that no more people were inside. While recovery operations were finished, crews remained on standby. Law enforcement coordinated the removal of vehicles and controlled traffic. When the situation was resolved and considered safe, the units were freed.
