Mutual Aid Supports Chichester at Barn Fire

Chichester, NH — 14th January — Chichester Fire Department workers responded to a reported barn fire on King Road in the afternoon. When firefighters arrived, they discovered a fire-affected barn well and an exposure issue with an adjacent house that was being built. A second alarm was requested due to resource requirements and fire conditions.


Firefighters concentrated on safeguarding the adjacent building while establishing suppression efforts. The fire was brought under control in approximately 45 minutes, preventing additional damage. With assistance from the Capital Area Fire Mutual Aid Coordinators for coverage, Pittsfield, Loudon, Concord, Epsom, Allenstown, Hooksett, Canterbury, and Bow offered mutual aid. Scene support was provided by the Merrimack County Sheriff's Office, Chichester Police, and New Hampshire State Police. There were no recorded injuries to firefighters or civilians.
