New Year’s Day EMS Call Leads to Ambulance Delivery

Franklin, NH — 1st January — Firefighters from the Franklin Fire Department's B Shift responded to a reported birthing in the City of Franklin on New Year's Day. It became evident that birth was about to happen as EMS personnel helped the mother get to the ambulance. Before being transported, the newborn boy was safely delivered on a stretcher inside the ambulance.


Firefighters Nathan Ecker, Keith McNulty, Ethan Ellingson, and Steve Fecteau were among the crew, along with EMS Chief Andrew Perkins. Later, it was reported that the mother and baby were doing well. The next day, the family came back to see the crews and present the infant. At a later time, the firefighters will receive stork pins.
