Engine 3 and Ladder 1 responded to a compost pile fire at the Bald Hill Compost Site on High Plain Road on December 29. When firefighters arrived, they discovered a smouldering compost pile inside the building. While examining the surrounding region for any potential extensions, crews used water to completely put out the fire. No new risks or reported injuries occurred throughout the operations. Before the troops left, the scene was secured.
