Newton, NH — 6th January — The Newton NH Fire Department, which is based at 8D Merrimac Road in Newton, New Hampshire, responded to a reported structure fire at 137 North Main Street. A mutual assistance response was prompted by Rockingham Dispatch's initial report of a shed fire that might have exposed surrounding cars and buildings.

After establishing command and arriving first, Newton Car 1 later verified that no nearby buildings were in danger. Within minutes, Engine 2 arrived, extended an assault line and around ten minutes later put out the fire. To finish operations, crews stayed on the scene for roughly an hour. The Newton Police Department supported the situation as the East Kingston Fire Department and the Kingston Fire Department offered mutual aid assistance.
