DERRY, NH — December 16 — A walk-in complaint of a dog on the ice at the Beaver Lake outlet near Sabra Circle and East Derry Road prompted the Derry, New Hampshire Fire Department, headquartered at 14 Manning Street in Derry, to react. Car 1, Engine 1, Medic 1, Ladder 4, and Utility 4—which had ice rescue equipment—were among the units that responded.
When the crews arrived, they saw a dog—later identified as Bella—standing on a little piece of ice-covered land. Because of the unstable ice, firefighters had to exercise caution, but they managed to secure the dog without any harm. A little while after, Bella was reunited with her family.
