Unity Provides Mutual Aid at Chimney Fire in Acworth

UNITY, NH — Jan. 2 — On January 2, at noon, the Unity Fire Department Association responded to a first-alarm chimney fire on Cold Pond Road in Acworth after being called in for mutual aid.


When firefighters from Unity, Lempster, and Acworth arrived promptly, they discovered a chimney fire that was active and had the potential to spread inside the house. Firefighters coordinated operations to access the chimney, extinguish the fire, and check surrounding areas for heat and extension. Due to the rapid response and coordinated mutual aid effort, the fire was contained before spreading beyond the chimney. No injuries were reported. After completing overhaul and safety checks, units were released and returned to service.
