The Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue responded to a third-alarm building fire on Crooked Mountain Road near Lincoln on the evening of December 27. Engine 3, Car 1, and Car 2 responded to the scene after the incident was reported at approximately 7 p.m. To maintain coverage, CTFD Station 1 was staffed by additional people. In addition to establishing a large-scale water delivery operation, CTFD members helped with fireground operations. A dump site was established at the Pemi Base Camp, and workers installed a 600-foot supply line from the fire area to a neighbouring parking lot.

With assistance from several local departments, water was transported from a fill site on Profile Drive in Woodstock. The shuttle operation involved equipment from units ranging from Rumney Fire Department and Plymouth Fire-Rescue to Lancaster Fire Department and Bath. Around midnight, CTFD personnel were evacuated from the area. Engine 3 was back in operation at around 1:30 a.m. after going back to quarters to clean equipment and repack hose.
