The Hardwick Fire Department responded to three separate incidents on December 6, 2025, underscoring what has already become a significantly busier year compared to 2024. By this date, the department had logged 32 more calls than the previous year, with much of December still remaining. The day began at 7:52 a.m. with a propane odor investigation in Hardwick, where Engine 2 responded with six members. Later that afternoon at 5:44 p.m., crews were dispatched to a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident in East Hardwick, with Engines 1 and 2 responding and eight members on scene; units returned to service after approximately an hour and a half. The evening concluded with a fire alarm activation at 6:31 p.m. in Hardwick, which was determined to be a false alarm. Despite the increased call volume, the department continues to respond efficiently and remains committed to protecting the community.
