Dec. 17, 2025 — Emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle crash with reported injuries Wednesday morning after a vehicle left the roadway in wintry conditions. The Readsboro Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 9:15 a.m., sending Engine 92-E2 and Utility 92-U1 to the scene.
Upon arrival, responders found a vehicle that had traveled off the road and into a wooded area. Firefighters secured the scene, assisted with patient care, and coordinated with partner agencies to manage traffic and ensure safe operations along the icy roadway.
Emergency medical care was provided by NBEMS, while the Vermont State Police assisted with scene control and investigation. The incident highlights the continued dangers of winter driving and the importance of slowing down and allowing extra stopping distance during snow and ice conditions.
