Dec. 15, 2025 — Readsboro Fire Department crews responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on the morning of Dec. 15 after a vehicle left the roadway and came to rest off-road in snowy conditions. The call was dispatched at 9:01 a.m., bringing a coordinated response from local and state emergency agencies.
Engine 92-E2, Utility 92-U1, North Bennington EMS, and Vermont State Police were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters worked to secure the area, assess hazards, and assist EMS with patient care. Snow-covered roads and winter conditions were a factor as responders operated along the roadway and down an embankment where the vehicle came to rest.
The incident serves as another reminder of the hazards winter driving presents in the region, particularly on rural roads where snow and ice can quickly lead to loss of control. Authorities remind motorists to slow down, increase following distance, and adjust driving for weather conditions.
