Dec. 2, 2025 — With a winter storm forecast to impact southern Vermont, the Readsboro Fire Department took proactive steps to ensure uninterrupted emergency response. Crews outfitted Engine 92-E2 and Truck 92-T1 with tire chains, preparing both units for icy and snow-covered road conditions.
Winter readiness is a critical part of operations in rural and mountainous areas, where storms can quickly complicate access and response times. By securing apparatus in advance, the department ensured it would remain capable of responding to fires, medical calls, and other emergencies regardless of deteriorating weather. Officials emphasized that preparation before a storm is key to keeping firefighters and the community safe.
