Ferrisburgh Volunteer Fire Department responded Friday, December 5, 2025, to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Shellhouse Mountain Road and Middlebrook Road amid slippery winter conditions.
Ferrisburgh Engine 1 and FAST personnel were dispatched to the scene, where crews found two vehicles involved in a collision on snow-covered roadways. Firefighters secured the scene, assessed hazards, and assisted with traffic control to ensure the safety of motorists and responders.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. During operations, Middlebrook Road was temporarily reduced to one-lane traffic while emergency crews worked, and motorists were asked to proceed with caution through the area.
Once vehicles were cleared and the roadway was deemed safe, both lanes were reopened. Ferrisburgh Fire cleared the scene and returned to service shortly thereafter.
Fire officials reminded drivers that winter driving conditions can change rapidly and urged motorists to slow down, increase following distances, and remain alert—especially on rural roads.
