2nd 4 Alarm Fire in 4 Days in Paterson

The second 4 alarm fire in as many days struck the Paterson Fire Dept in freezing temperatures on Sunday morning January 9. The fire came in shortly after 730 am. The first arriving Battalion Chief, Battalion 2 immediately called a working fire with heavy fire showing and exposure problems on the B and D exposures. a 2nd alarm was called for and a short time later a 3rd alarm. Three aerials were up and work along with numerous handlines. A 4th alarm was then called for to bring in extra apparatus and manpower to the scene and to cover city firehouses. A victim was rescued early in the incident from the main fire building, he was reported to by in good condition. one firefighter was treated. The owner of the D exposure advised he had just completed a full renovation of his building and advised that he and all of his tenants had gotten out safely.
