HUDSON, NY — December 24 — The City of Hudson Fire Department, situated at 77 N. 7th Street, was called by Columbia County 911 to a reported stove fire that may have been extinguished at 621 Warren Street.

When Chief of Department Shawn Hoffman got there, he saw smoke on the first floor of a restaurant that had a kitchen fire going on. After swiftly putting out the fire, firefighters started looking for an extension. A second-floor flat above the restaurant had been involved in a fire, according to further research. To guarantee total extinguishment and make sure there was no remaining hidden fire, crews opened walls and ceilings. The apartment's broken water pipe contributed to the fire's containment. Craig Haigh, a code enforcement officer, and the Hudson City Police Department provided on-site assistance.
