The Deposit Fire Department, Eastern Broome Emergency Services, and the Harpursville Fire Department were called to a potential home fire on North Sanford Road in the Town of Sanford shortly after one in the morning on December 14. A resident of a single-family home stated that there was smoke on the second level. Crews found a working fire on the second story as soon as they arrived and swiftly put it out. Because of the way the house was built, a thorough renovation was necessary to guarantee that the fire was completely put out. According to the inquiry, the fire spread into the wall spaces after starting in the chimney of a wood-burning stove. Every resident left the house unharmed. Due to the intricacy of the fire and the home's position in a non-hydrated area, a second alarm was requested. Superior Ambulance was on the scene, and the fire departments of Harpursville, Afton, Windsor, Masonville, and West Windsor offered mutual help. During operations, the Deposit district was covered by Trout Creek Fire. Eastern Broome Ambulance and many deposit devices also reacted.
