Mutual Aid Response Sends Pompton Plains Aerial to Fire Scene

Pompton Plains, New Jersey — December 27 — Department A working residential structure fire in Pompton Lakes prompted the deployment of Pompton Plains Engine Company #1, situated at 30 Jackson Avenue, on mutual aid. In order to assist with fireground operations, Company 1 responded with designated people and equipment. When the personnel arrived, they positioned the 1-1 aerial device as instructed by the command. Incident command changed operations from an attacking plan to a defensive approach as conditions were assessed.


The aerial device was used to assist defensive fire suppression attempts after the tactical shift. Alongside response agencies, Pompton Plains staff worked under the established incident command system. According to department officials, mutual aid responses enable departments to provide safe and coordinated operations during major events while sharing specialized people and equipment.
