The Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department was active during the holiday season. On top of our fire, ambulance and mutual aid calls, we participated in events that have become part of Hasbrouck Heights traditions at the Christmas holidays.

The Department first lent a hand escorting Santa down the Boulevard at the Annual Holiday Parade on the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 26th. The HHFD proudly escorted Santa to the Hasbrouck Heights circle where the department helped set up the sound system for the event. It was even more amazing when the tree was lit and the circle was ablaze with light. It’s always an engaging event to welcome in the holiday season.

On the last Sunday before Christmas on December 19th, we escorted Santa again for the department’s annual “Santa Around Town”. Last year because of COVID restrictions, the department traveled each street in Hasbrouck Heights slowly and greeted residents from the safety of our equipment. This year with safety protocols in place, we greeted residents once again at selected stops all over Hasbrouck Heights. Santa was able to hear family’s wishes for Christmas and was able to take pictures with children and their parents. Even dogs in the Christmas jackets joined in the picture taking. It was nice to greet our residents again.

With Santa safely back at the North Pole and Christmas wishes fulfilled, we want to wish the Hasbrouck Heights community a Happy and Safe New Year to everyone!
