Monmouth Beach, NJ — December 29 — A 9-1-1 call of an apartment fire at the Shore Condos on Ocean Avenue was received by the Monmouth County Communications Centre, prompting the Monmouth Beach Fire Company to react. Along with automatic assistance from Sea Bright and Long Branch, Monmouth Beach Police, Fire, and EMS were sent out. When Sea Bright Fire Chief Chad Murphy and Fire Chief Tim Griffin arrived, they established that there was a working fire on the second floor of the occupied 12-story residential complex and sent out a second alarm. Firefighters contained the fire to the original flat by conducting an interior attack. Within an hour, the fire was contained. There were no recorded injuries to firefighters or civilians. The Monmouth Beach and Monmouth County Fire Marshals' Offices are still looking into the reason.
