Engine 43 of the Franklin Fire Company responded to a reported engine compartment fire at Carson's Mobile Home Park on North Franklin Street at around 4:30 p.m. on December 28. When firemen arrived, they discovered that the vehicle's fire was limited to the engine compartment. In order to contain the fire and stop it from spreading to the passenger compartment or other exposed areas, crews promptly used hand tools and firefighting equipment.
