Photo by RON JEFFERSOld Tappan has placed into service a rescue-pumper, designated Squad 6. It is a 2023 Pierce Arrow XT 2000-gpm/750-gwt model. The extended cab has eight seats, plus chargers for portable radios, hand lights and two TIC's. In addition, there are six quick access draws possessing safety vests. Additional features include a light tower, 9000-lb portable winch with four receivers, roll-out equipment trays, scene lights, and coffin-style compartments. There is a booster reel located above the pump on the officer's side. It carries extrication tools and air bags. Squad 6 replaced a standard rescue truck. It was sold by Fire & Safety Services.
